In the News: Sarah Palin’s E-Mails Released to Public?

10 Jun

Let me start off by saying, I am not a fan of Sarah Palin, never was and never will be – frankly I don’t agree with a word she says or makes up for that matter; BUT having said that, I DO NOT believe it is okay for 24,000 pages worth of e-mails to be released to the public. Maybe a few government related/fraud/misconception ones, something where she said one thing to her constituents and told her $donors$ something else. BUT 24,000 pages worth? I don’t think anyone, even Mrs. Palin deserves that type of humiliation – what if some of those e-mails contain comments she made to her husband about her disappointment that her teenager is having a baby? how much pain will that bring to her kids?

What else scares me? if they can dig up so much of her e-mails… what’s to say they can not potentially dig up ours. Some things are meant to stay private.

I say release only the e-mails that are on a need to know basis… if I don’t need to know it, I shouldn’t have it flashing in front of my face on a 24 hour news cycle.

What do you think about it?

now this is something that i can rant about. on the one hand, i really think that publicly elected officials need to maintain a certain transparency otherwise we end up with something similar to a principal agent problem, but at the same time it is also important that some matters retain a certain essential discretion. due to what Palin has been doing in terms of publicity, her TV show, etc, I don’t know how much privacy she deserves if she’s going to continue to push herself into the limelight. further, she humiliates herself on a regular basis with half the stuff that comes out of her mouth. i don’t think that Bush Jr. ever could done such a good job of being a paid idiot.

LOL yes she does put herself out there and the things she says are just, well – dumb, unfounded and confusing; to say the least. She deserves certain e-mail being released, but not ones with personal stuff, like if she ordered tampons from or something. I guess either way the media is gunna have a FRENZY when these e-mail are released.
