Health! Living with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) part 1

18 Jul

As with every published article on Jaded Press, we try to include links within the post – for you to have the most resources possible to get even more information.

First and foremost I would like to say writing this article is really difficult for me because I was in denial that I had PCOS and this is the first time I am going public with it… so bare with me. After giving birth to my precious little girl back in 2007, I developed a lot of problems physically and even emotionally; that I NEVER had before – so of course I assumed they were all somehow related to my delivery and postnatal changes. Why might assume that? well let’s rewind a little bit; for the sake of some background – my pregnancy went pretty smooth with very little complications, I was happy about that because I know many others who had a ton of problems… the only problem I had was that baby seemed like it was only getting bigger and bigger… too big… at my last sonogram they told me she was going to be almost 11lbs! so in the last two weeks of my pregnancy I gained over 20lbs – so my MD decided to induce me 4 days before my due date. On my last visit to my OB-gyn, all the tests went exactly as they did for the previous 9 months, the final results were good and I was excited to get this baby OUT! Because it seems as though my face, logs, ankles, body swelled up into a balloon and I just couldn’t hold all that weight anymore. So I went in to deliver at 5:00am on Oct 24th. Once I got to the hospital they checked my vitals, urine and the baby’s heart rate… I wasn’t too worried since everything looked good the evening before… but unfortunately that’s when sh*t hit the fan. All of a sudden there were large amounts of protein in my urine and my blood pressure was sky high – I developed a sudden onset of Serve Preeclampsia “over night”. Continue reading

Since announcing an upcoming price increase of subscription fees, Netflix shares officially rose by 0.31 points, or 0.11 percent, after closing at $286.93, on the NASDAQ Stock Market Friday, July 15th, 2011. Netflix shares managed to stay out of the negative after experiencing an all day decrease in value.

An overall stock decline following the shocking announcement on July 12th, 2011 brings Netflix shares down a total of -3.81 points and -1.31% in just four days. TradersHuddle.com reports of investors cashing in profits as the future of investing in Netflix’s stock may be uncertain. Continue reading

In the News! Netflix Further Snubs Their Customers!

13 Jul

Today on July 13th, 2011, Netflix’s Vice President of Corporate Communications Steve Swasey, issued a formal statement to MSNBC following a monumental social media outrage with the company. After yesterday’s announcement of subscription price increases, and over hundreds of thousands unhappy customers all voicing their displeasure via social networks and customer service lines, many reporters were unable to reach Netflix for comment. MSNBC’s Technolog acquired an exclusive statement on behalf of Netflix which addresses and minimizes customer concerns:

He said the timing of the price change was “appropriate” and that “$6 more is a remarkable value, a latte or two every month. For most folks it’s absorbable,” adding Netflix was “sympathetic to those in terrible financial straits.” But, he said, the reaction was “expected.” “We anticipated some folks were not going be happy with the change. It didn’t surprise us.” Continue reading

In the News! Netflix to Increase Subscription Fees

12 Jul

A longtime leading giant of movie rentals and streaming, Netflix, has announced a second increase in subscription prices for the year 2011. Vice President of Marketing Jessie Becker made the official announcement on the Netflix.com blog, citing “lowest prices ever” and at the same time slapping his longtime, dedicated customers in their faces. Earlier this year, price increases imposed on all Netflix subscriptions promised the expansion of streaming movie content. The first increase was justified by outrageous demands of movie studio and production company license costs. Customers did not seem very put off by the initial price hikes as long as their services continued to improve.

Five months later, an official blog post revealed removal of member review features, de-personalized the user experience, and introduced the launch of a new website interface. The updated website changes caused an uproar of Netflix blog comments, reaching capacity of over 5,000 dissatisfied customer complaints pleading for the website to be reverted back as the changes were not very user friendly. Despite thousands of objections regarding the new website interface, Netflix ignored their entire customer base, and made no apologies or announcements regarding user concerns. Adding insult to injury, on June 17th Pauline Fischer, VP of Content Acquisition, announced a temporary removal of Sony Movies from streaming service as a result of a “temporary contract issue between Sony and Starz,” and in the following weeks, certain customer favorite shows and movies were slowly removed from instant streaming play right from under user’s noses. Review! The Most Comfortable Sandal; EVER!

11 Jul

FitFlops Women's Hyker Sandal

FitFlops Women's Hyker Sandal

The summer is here and when I walk; I want to feel like I am floating; OK maybe that’s an exaggeration – but I want to feel comfortable. Everyone has different levels of comfort, like   sometimes in the heat your feet swell, you get blisters, cuts and etc – so when looking for a sandal you may want something that you can adjust on the go, have soft material, stretches, ease of wearing and can take a beating. For the most part you can not go wrong with a Flip Flop and I’m going to almost guarantee it’s apart of your shoe collection… if not by the dozen. I love the ease of slipping right in and getting out the door, BUT I was getting ready for a trip to Six Flags and it hit me:

I don’t really feel like taking off my flip flops and sitting on them during the rides or wearing them and risk them flying off either… SO, what is a girl to do?

Reviews! The Perfect Bra for the Busty Girl

8 Jul

The Perfect Bra for the Busty Girl

Oh My Gorgeous Bridget Lace Cami Underwire Bra. Style: 500001779

Do you have a large cup size? can you NEVER find a V-neck, Halter or any nice top to wear because no matter what you put on, the neckline/cut goes way too low cause of the weight of your chest? well join the club! From personal experience V-Necks/Halter tops always look better on girls/women with bigger busts, but when you put one on… people stare you down and think “omg, can’t you cover those up!” ~Women or “DAMN GIRL! I wanna…” ~Men or “I want milk!” ~Baby … you get my point! — nice shirts on us, become way too revealing – hey I guess it’s just gravity. Well, I got sick and tired of going thru my closet and having to put away all of my favorite tops and just wear t-shirts – only because I wanted to go to a show, not be the star of one. So after searching online for a while, I came across many ‘under shirt slips/covers/over the bra tubes’ but I didn’t want to pile on the clothes; because after all, I don’t want to make my self look even larger then I already am. As I continued to search I came across

In the News! Casey Anthony: Vedict is in – Not Guilty

6 Jul

Casey Anthony was found not guilty in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. I; like most of you – am speechless. So I’ll just ask a poll question.

On July 5, 2011, Casey Anthony was found not guilty of murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated manslaughter, but guilty of four misdemeanor counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer.

Caylee Marie Anthony. August 9, 2005-June 16, 2008

Investigation: wikipedia.org
When Detective Yuri Melich, with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, began investigating the disappearance of Caylee Anthony, he found discrepancies in Casey’s signed statement. When questioned, Casey said Caylee had been kidnapped by her nanny, Zanny. Although Casey had talked about Zanny, she had never been seen by Casey’s family or friends, and in fact there was no nanny. Casey also told police that she worked at Universal Studios, a lie she had been telling her parents for years. Investigators brought Casey to Universal Studios on July 16, 2008, the day after Caylee was reported missing, and asked her to show them her office. Casey led police around for a while before admitting that she had been fired years before.
